About the Author
Hello, and welcome! I’m Lisa Woelke, an author drawn to the stories that shape who we are—the experiences we inherit, the struggles we carry, and the moments that change the direction of our lives.
My writing is rooted in real life: family history, addiction and recovery, healing, faith, and the complicated journey of becoming who we were meant to be. I believe that even the hardest chapters of our lives can hold meaning, and that understanding the stories behind us can help us better understand ourselves.
My debut memoir, The Stories That Came Before: Love. Loss. Second Chances., explores my parents’ lives, the experiences that shaped them, and the stories that came before my own. It is a deeply personal reminder that every life has a history, and that those histories often reach further than we realize.
Through my books and personal reflections, I hope to create space for honesty, connection, and a deeper understanding of the experiences that make us human.
Because there’s always more to the story than what we see on the surface.
